How to Create a Business Profile

Before You Start:
  • Prepare your business registration documents (PDF, JPG, or PNG)
  • Have your business permit ready
  • Know your business category and type
  • Prepare business contact information

Navigate to Registration Page

Go to the business registration page. You can access this from:

  • Main homepage "Register" button and select 'Register a Business
  • Direct URL: bizyangu-hub.co.ke

Fill in Personal Information
First Name & Last Name
Your legal name as it appears on official documents.
Email Address
Must be unique and valid. You'll receive verification emails here.
Note: This email cannot be used by another account.
Phone Number & WhatsApp
Format: +254XXXXXXXXX
WhatsApp number for customer communication.
Password
Create a strong password with:
  • At least 8 characters
  • Mix of uppercase and lowercase
  • Include numbers and special characters

Fill in Business Details
Business Name
Official registered name of your business.
Tip: This will be displayed publicly to customers.
Business Type
Select from: Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, Limited Company, etc.
Business Category
Choose the category that best describes your business (e.g., Electronics, Fashion, Food & Beverages).
Important: This determines what product types you can list.
Business Description
Describe what your business does (minimum 50 characters).
Tip: Write a compelling description - this appears in search results!

Add Location Information
County & Town
Select your county from dropdown, then enter your town/city name.
Note: Names are automatically capitalized (e.g., "nairobi" becomes "Nairobi").
Physical Address
Building Name: (Required) - e.g., "Sarit Center"
Floor: (Optional) - e.g., "Ground Floor"
Room/Shop Number: (Optional) - e.g., "Shop 15"
Business Phone
Official business phone number for customer inquiries.

Set Business Hours (Optional)

Configure your operating hours for each day of the week:

  • Check "Closed" if not operating on that day
  • Set opening and closing times for open days
  • Use 24-hour format (e.g., 08:00 - 18:00)
Pro Tip: Accurate business hours help customers know when to visit or call!

Upload Business Documents
Required Document:
You MUST upload your Business Permit/License to proceed.
Business Permit
Accepted formats: PDF, JPG, PNG
Maximum size: 5MB
Requirements:
  • Valid and current business permit
  • Clearly legible/readable

  • Click "Register Business" button
  • What Happens After Registration?

    Immediate (0 minutes):
    • Registration confirmation email sent
    • Your unique referral code generated
    • Account created with "Pending Approval" status
    Within 7 Days:
    • Payment Required: You must pay the registration fee
    • We can activate your profile for 48 hours upon request
    • This allows you to set up while awaiting payment confirmation
    Within 30 mins-4 Hours (after payment):
    • Admin reviews your business profile
    • Verification of business documents
    • Profile approved and activated
    After Approval:
    • Full access to business dashboard
    • Can add products and manage listings
    • Business appears in public directory
    • Start receiving customer inquiries
    Critical Payment Timelines
    • 7-Day Grace Period: You have 7 days from registration to pay
    • 48-Hour Activation: Optional early activation for setup (then auto-suspended if unpaid)
    • Permanent Deletion: If registration fee not paid within 7 days, your profile is PERMANENTLY DELETED
    • No Recovery: Deleted profiles cannot be restored - you must register again

    How to Add Products

    Prerequisites:
    • Business profile must be approved and active
    • Subscription must be active (not expired/suspended)
    • Must not have reached product limit for your tier

    Access Add Product Page

    From your business dashboard:

    • Click on "Products" in the sidebar
    • Then click "Add Product"

    Fill Basic Product Information
    Product Name
    Clear, descriptive name (minimum 2 characters).
    Examples: "Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra", "Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro High"
    Tip: Include brand and model for better search results
    Product Slug
    URL-friendly version of product name.
    Auto-generated but you can customize it.
    Example: "samsung-galaxy-s23-ultra"
    Note: If slug exists, system adds timestamp automatically
    Category & Product Type
    Category: Main business category (inherited from your business)
    Product Type: Specific subcategory for this product
    Important: Product type must match your business category
    Category Validation:
    The system verifies that your selected product type belongs to your business category. If there's a mismatch, you'll see an error: "Invalid category selection".

    Add Product Description
    Description
    Detailed description of your product.
    Should include:
    • Key features and benefits
    • Specifications
    • What's included in the package
    • Any warranties or guarantees
    Tip: Use bullet points for better readability

    Set Pricing Information
    Price
    Product price in Kenyan Shillings (KSh).
    Must be: 0 or positive number
    Examples: 25000, 1500.50, 0 (for free items)
    Currency
    Default: KES (Kenyan Shillings)
    You can change if accepting other currencies

    SKU (Optional)
    Stock Keeping Unit - your internal product code.
    Example: "SMSG-S23-BLK-256"
    Stock Quantity
    Number of units available.
    Default: 0
    Tip: Keep this updated to avoid selling out-of-stock items
    Stock Status
    Options: In Stock, Out of Stock, Pre-Order
    Default: In Stock

    Product Images (Highly Recommended)
    Accepted formats: JPEG, JPG, PNG, WebP
    Maximum size per image: 5MB
    Multiple images: You can upload several images

    Image Requirements:
    • Clear, high-quality photos
    • Good lighting
    • Multiple angles recommended
    • First image becomes the main product image
    Photography Tips:
    • Use natural lighting or good artificial light
    • Plain background works best
    • Show product from multiple angles
    • Include size reference if relevant
    • Show product in use/context
    Upload Size Limits:
    If your total upload size exceeds server limits (post_max_size), you'll see an error. Keep total upload under the limit shown in error message.

    Additional specifications and features.

    Common Attributes by Category:
    • Electronics: Screen Size, RAM, Storage, Color, Processor
    • Clothing: Size, Color, Material, Brand, Fit
    • Furniture: Dimensions, Material, Color, Weight Capacity
    • Food: Weight, Ingredients, Expiry Date, Nutritional Info

    How to Add:
    1. Click "Add Attribute" button
    2. Enter attribute name (e.g., "Color")
    3. Enter attribute value (e.g., "Black")
    4. Repeat for each attribute

    Condition
    Options: New, Used, Refurbished
    Default: New
    Minimum Order Quantity
    Minimum number of units per order.
    Default: 1
    Use case: Wholesale products requiring bulk orders
    Weight & Dimensions (Optional)
    Weight: In kilograms (kg)
    Dimensions: Format: "Length x Width x Height cm"
    Example: "30 x 20 x 15 cm"
    Use: Helps with shipping calculations

    Publish Status
    Options:
    • Active: Visible to customers in marketplace
    • Draft: Saved but not visible (you can edit later before publishing)
    • Inactive: Hidden from marketplace but saved

    Tip: Use "Draft" while you're still preparing product details
    Featured Product (Optional)
    Check this box to feature the product.
    Benefits:
    • Appears in featured sections
    • Gets priority in search results
    • More visibility to customers

    Meta Title
    SEO-optimized title for search engines.
    Tip: Include main keywords (50-60 characters ideal)
    Example: "Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 256GB - Best Price in Kenya"
    Meta Description
    Brief description for search results (150-160 characters).
    Should include: Key features, price range, call-to-action
    Example: "Buy Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 256GB at the best price. Free delivery in Nairobi. Shop now at [Your Business]!"

    Review and Submit
  • Product name is clear and descriptive
  • Category and type are correct
  • Price is accurate
  • Stock quantity is updated
  • At least one product image uploaded (highly recommended)
  • Important attributes added
  • Description is complete and informative
  • Status set correctly (Active/Draft)

  • Click "Add Product" button to submit.

    After Adding Product

    Immediate Actions:

    • Product saved to database
    • Images uploaded and optimized
    • Product attributes stored
    • Business product count updated
    • Success message displayed with product details

    If Status = Active:

    • Product immediately visible in marketplace
    • Appears in search results
    • Customers can view and inquire
    • Shows on your business profile

    If Status = Draft:

    • Product saved but not visible
    • You can edit anytime
    • Publish when ready by changing status to "Active"

    Solution: Fill in all required fields marked with asterisks (*)
    Error: "Invalid category selection"
    Solution: Ensure product type belongs to your business category. Contact support if unsure.

    Solution: Renew your subscription to continue adding products.

    Solution: Reduce image file sizes or upload fewer images at once. Each image max 5MB.
